Overview
Oddish Wine is the brainchild of Lost Cause Meadery, who was looking for an avenue to create wines without rules and boundaries, but stay true to the spirit of winemaking. They make some honest, weird, crushable, frivolous, good time wines, whatever those are – and wanted to create a brand influence by skateboard culture with their own spin on traditional wine making.

Challenge
In creating their brand, Oddish wanted to push more towards the edgy and irreverent side of things in a more hand drawn style, breaking the traditional models for what is expected from wine branding and design.
Solution
To establish the brand and embody their irreverence, we designed a logo that was inspired by vintage cartoon imagery, accompanied with a typeface drawing influence from skate and surf culture. We created brand guidelines to define their logo usage, typography, and color palette – established brand patterns and imagery, and developed their core messaging, tone, voice, and tagline. With the refreshed brand foundation in place, we set out designing their first batch of bottle labels – lots more to come for these guys and we are excited to see the weird combinations of fruits and flavors they come up with next!
